2. Alarms, preferences and wake-up statistics
fumble stores alarms with their label, time, repeat days, sound, enabled state and selected missions. It also stores your wake-up profile, selected task types and permissions, difficulty preferences and feedback, and the date, duration and task count of successful wake-ups. A registered barcode target is stored locally with the name you choose and the recognised barcode content.
This data is used to run alarms, offer suitable missions and display streaks and statistics. fumble does not require its own user account or operate a proprietary server for this data, and it uses no advertising or analytics SDKs.
3. Camera and face detection for missions
fumble requests camera permission only for selected camera missions. Photos are checked in memory for brightness and visual variation; fumble does not recognise whether the requested subject is actually in the picture. Other missions locally check brightness, a colour, a barcode or whether a face is smiling.
The smile check does not identify you; fumble creates no facial template or identity profile. Images are neither uploaded to a server nor saved by fumble to your photo library. When you register a barcode, the recognised code and its label are retained, rather than the camera image.
4. Motion, microphone and speech
Motion missions use device motion sensors and, where applicable, its step counter to recognise steps, shaking, repetitions or turns during the task. Sensor readings are evaluated locally. fumble does not track your location or read Apple Health data.
Speech missions require microphone and speech-recognition permission. Recognition runs exclusively on the device. If it is unavailable, the app offers a way out of the task instead of enabling server-based recognition. fumble does not store audio files. You can revoke sensor permissions in system settings and use other available missions.
5. System alarms, widgets and visible content
With your permission, fumble passes alarm times and their alarm display to iOS. Scheduled system alarms can ring while the app is closed. The app and widget share local storage for the next alarm, its label, the current streak and processing of alarm actions.
Alarm information may be visible in widgets, system displays or on the Lock Screen. Choose labels accordingly and consider your device’s display settings.
6. Purchases through Apple
Apple processes in-app purchases and subscriptions. fumble uses product and transaction information provided by Apple to enable Pro, restore purchases and recognise subscription expiry or renewal. This includes information such as the product identifier, validity and purchase status. We do not receive credit-card or bank-account details through fumble. Apple’s privacy information applies to its own processing.
7. Local error reports and voluntary sharing
When technical errors occur, fumble writes diagnostic entries with the time, error category, a technical alarm or product identifier where applicable, and the technical error message to the system log and a local file. This file is shortened when it reaches approximately 200 KB and is excluded from device backups. It is not automatically sent to an analytics or crash-reporting service.
Choosing the error-report sharing action opens the system share sheet. Your selection determines which service or recipient receives the file. Success cards may include the date, time, wake-up duration, streak and mission names; they are likewise passed to the chosen app only when you choose to share. The recipient’s rules apply to its processing.
8. Legal bases
Processing for your alarms, profiles, statistics and purchase entitlements provides the app functions you request under Article 6(1)(b) GDPR. Optional camera, motion and speech functions are used only for the selected mission and with the necessary permissions; where data-protection consent is required, Article 6(1)(a) GDPR applies. You can disable these functions and permissions for future use. Local error diagnostics are based on our legitimate interest in reliable operation under Article 6(1)(f) GDPR.
9. Retention, deletion and backups
Alarms, profiles and statistics remain on the device until you change them or remove the associated app data. You can delete unwanted alarms within the app. Images, audio and raw motion readings are not kept as a permanent history. The local diagnostics file is shortened according to its size.
fumble does not provide its own cloud synchronisation; ordinary device backups depend on your iOS settings. Removing the app does not automatically delete externally saved success cards, shared error reports, device backups or any remaining shared widget data. Manage those copies at their respective locations. Subscriptions must be cancelled separately through Apple. Because we do not receive your local alarm and profile data, we cannot delete it remotely.
10. Support and contact
If you contact us, we receive your email address, message and any files you attach. Only send information needed for your request. We use it to respond: under Article 6(1)(b) GDPR for contractual matters, otherwise under Article 6(1)(f) GDPR based on our legitimate interest in responding to enquiries.
Our mailbox uses iCloud Mail, provided by Apple Distribution International Ltd., Hollyhill Industrial Estate, Hollyhill, Cork, Ireland. Apple processes messages and technical connection data. For Apple’s processing, possible transfers outside the European Economic Area (EEA) and the applicable safeguards, see Apple’s privacy policy. A copy of the standard contractual clauses described there can be requested from Apple.
We delete support correspondence when the matter is resolved and no legal retention requirement or specific reason, such as resolving outstanding claims, requires further storage. Where retention is required, further use is limited to that purpose.
11. Your rights and consent
Subject to the applicable legal conditions, you have rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction and data portability (Articles 15–20 GDPR). You may object to processing based on legitimate interests on grounds relating to your particular situation (Article 21 GDPR).
You may withdraw consent at any time for the future by disabling the relevant feature or revoking its permission in system settings. This does not affect the lawfulness of processing that occurred before withdrawal. Optional access is voluntary; refusing it may prevent or limit the corresponding feature. Information needed for a requested app feature is used for that feature; there is no legal obligation to provide it.
Use the controls described above to manage data on your device and in your Apple account. We cannot remotely access or erase that data. For information you have sent us, including support emails, or for help, contact norvia_noah@icloud.com.
You may complain to a data protection authority (Article 77 GDPR), including the authority where you live. Our competent authority is the Hessian Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information, Gustav-Stresemann-Ring 1, 65189 Wiesbaden, Germany.
12. Website and changes
When you open this page or another Norvia web page, the website privacy policy (German) also applies, particularly to hosting and connection data. We update this app policy when the described features or processing change. The date above identifies this version.
