2. Data stored by Tick
Tick stores the counters you create, including their names, daily goals, colours, icons, display styles, order and your preference for encouraging messages. It also stores a creation date and a random internal identifier. Each counter's daily records contain the date, count and whether the goal-reached celebration has already been shown.
This data is stored locally in the app. Tick uses it to display your counters, daily goals, weekly history, averages and streaks. Icon suggestions are generated within the app from the name you enter; the name is not sent to an online service for this purpose.
3. Purposes and legal bases
Processing provides the counting and history features you choose. Where your entries contain personal data, processing is necessary to perform the app-use contract under Article 6(1)(b) GDPR. The necessary storage on, and access to, your device serves the service you request under section 25(2)(2) of the German TDDDG. Tick cannot retain your counters and history without local storage.
4. Permissions, recipients and network access
Tick requires no special device permissions for its counting features. It does not access HealthKit, contacts, photos, microphone or location. It includes no user accounts, advertising, tracking or analytics services, and no app-operated cloud synchronisation. The app does not transmit your counters or daily values to us or other recipients.
The “Website & Kontakt” link opens our website in your browser. The website's privacy policy additionally applies when you open it. Local counting features do not require an internet connection.
5. Retention, deletion and backups
Counters and daily values remain stored locally while you keep them for your history. You can delete counters in the app. This also removes their associated daily records from the local data store. Tick does not provide a cloud copy; we cannot access or remotely delete your local entries.
You can manage other local app data through iOS storage and deletion features. Offloading an app retains its data. Depending on your system settings, app data may be included in iCloud or computer backups. Deleting a counter or the app does not automatically remove existing backup copies. Use the management and deletion options of the relevant backup service for those copies.
6. Support and contact
If you contact us, we receive your email address, message and any files you attach. Only send information needed for your request. We use it to respond: under Article 6(1)(b) GDPR for contractual matters, otherwise under Article 6(1)(f) GDPR based on our legitimate interest in responding to enquiries.
Our mailbox uses iCloud Mail, provided by Apple Distribution International Ltd., Hollyhill Industrial Estate, Hollyhill, Cork, Ireland. Apple processes messages and technical connection data. For Apple’s processing, possible transfers outside the European Economic Area (EEA) and the applicable safeguards, see Apple’s privacy policy. A copy of the standard contractual clauses described there can be requested from Apple.
We delete support correspondence when the matter is resolved and no legal retention requirement or specific reason, such as resolving outstanding claims, requires further storage. Where retention is required, further use is limited to that purpose.
7. Your rights and consent
Subject to the applicable legal conditions, you have rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction and data portability (Articles 15–20 GDPR). You may object to processing based on legitimate interests on grounds relating to your particular situation (Article 21 GDPR).
You may withdraw consent at any time for the future by disabling the relevant feature or revoking its permission in system settings. This does not affect the lawfulness of processing that occurred before withdrawal. Optional access is voluntary; refusing it may prevent or limit the corresponding feature. Information needed for a requested app feature is used for that feature; there is no legal obligation to provide it.
Use the controls described above to manage data on your device and in your Apple account. We cannot remotely access or erase that data. For information you have sent us, including support emails, or for help, contact norvia_noah@icloud.com.
You may complain to a data protection authority (Article 77 GDPR), including the authority where you live. Our competent authority is the Hessian Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information, Gustav-Stresemann-Ring 1, 65189 Wiesbaden, Germany.
8. Website and changes
When you open this page or another Norvia web page, the website privacy policy (German) also applies, particularly to hosting and connection data. We update this app policy when the described features or processing change. The date above identifies this version.
