2. Focus data and settings
blop stores the names, creation dates and internal identifiers of your focus modes, together with your selection of apps, categories and websites to block. The selection is stored as protected identifiers supplied by Apple. For focus sessions, blop stores the start, end, duration, selected mode and completion status. This information is used to display your statistics.
The app also stores your language, visual style including the Bloppi children's style, setup status, selected blocking rules and remaining emergency unlocks. A local record of the current session state helps restore interrupted sessions correctly. The app does not transmit this data to us.
3. Screen Time and NFC
With your authorisation, blop uses Apple's Screen Time features to block the apps, categories and websites you select during a focus session. Optional rules can also restrict app installation, app removal, in-app purchases or mature content. These functions use the system services on your device. blop does not keep a record of the content you view in other apps.
You initiate an NFC scan when pairing, starting or ending a session. blop reads the NFC chip identifier and signed object data, checks them locally and stores the identifier of your paired blop object. This data is used to recognise your object and is not sent to a verification server.
You can manage Screen Time authorisation in iOS settings. Without it, blop cannot provide blocking. The regular NFC features require a compatible NFC-capable device and a paired blop object.
4. Live Activities and children's style
If Live Activities are enabled on your device, blop can display the active mode name and elapsed focus time on the Lock Screen and in the Dynamic Island. These details may be visible to anyone who can see your screen. You can manage Live Activities in system settings.
The app and its blocking-screen extension share local storage for language and visual style. The “Bloppi for children” style changes the presentation and wording. It does not create a child profile or collect a date of birth. There is no parent account, remote monitoring or transmission of usage reports to parents. Children should set up the app and select restrictions together with a parent or guardian.
5. Purposes and legal bases
The local processing described above provides the focus features, restrictions, statistics and settings you choose. Where personal data is processed, the legal basis is performance of the app-use contract under Article 6(1)(b) GDPR. Necessary storage on, and access to, your device serves the service you request under section 25(2)(2) of the German TDDDG. System authorisation additionally determines whether a particular device feature may be used.
6. Recipients, external services and backups
blop uses no app-operated server for your focus data, no user account, no advertising or analytics services and no app-operated cloud synchronisation. Its local features do not send your focus data to us or to such services.
If you open email contact or an App Store review, the app opens your selected mail application or an Apple service. An email is sent only when you submit it yourself. The privacy information of these services also applies when you choose to use them.
Depending on your system settings, local app data may be included in a device backup, such as an iCloud or computer backup. This is separate from cloud synchronisation by blop. Backup management, retention and deletion depend on your settings and the relevant backup service.
7. Retention and deletion
Your focus data remains stored locally for your history and statistics until deleted. You can delete focus modes in the app, which also removes their stored selection. Existing session records are not automatically deleted with a mode. Unpairing the object in settings removes its pairing identifier.
The app currently has no separate deletion feature for saved sessions. You can manage local app data using iOS storage and deletion features; offloading an app retains its data. Shared local storage and existing device backups may be subject to separate system retention rules. We cannot access or remotely delete focus data stored only on your device.
8. Support and contact
If you contact us, we receive your email address, message and any files you attach. Only send information needed for your request. We use it to respond: under Article 6(1)(b) GDPR for contractual matters, otherwise under Article 6(1)(f) GDPR based on our legitimate interest in responding to enquiries.
Our mailbox uses iCloud Mail, provided by Apple Distribution International Ltd., Hollyhill Industrial Estate, Hollyhill, Cork, Ireland. Apple processes messages and technical connection data. For Apple’s processing, possible transfers outside the European Economic Area (EEA) and the applicable safeguards, see Apple’s privacy policy. A copy of the standard contractual clauses described there can be requested from Apple.
We delete support correspondence when the matter is resolved and no legal retention requirement or specific reason, such as resolving outstanding claims, requires further storage. Where retention is required, further use is limited to that purpose.
9. Your rights and consent
Subject to the applicable legal conditions, you have rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction and data portability (Articles 15–20 GDPR). You may object to processing based on legitimate interests on grounds relating to your particular situation (Article 21 GDPR).
You may withdraw consent at any time for the future by disabling the relevant feature or revoking its permission in system settings. This does not affect the lawfulness of processing that occurred before withdrawal. Optional access is voluntary; refusing it may prevent or limit the corresponding feature. Information needed for a requested app feature is used for that feature; there is no legal obligation to provide it.
Use the controls described above to manage data on your device and in your Apple account. We cannot remotely access or erase that data. For information you have sent us, including support emails, or for help, contact norvia_noah@icloud.com.
You may complain to a data protection authority (Article 77 GDPR), including the authority where you live. Our competent authority is the Hessian Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information, Gustav-Stresemann-Ring 1, 65189 Wiesbaden, Germany.
10. Website and changes
When you open this page or another Norvia web page, the website privacy policy (German) also applies, particularly to hosting and connection data. We update this app policy when the described features or processing change. The date above identifies this version.
